D.E.F. funds programs that have proven success in providing youth from diamond producing countries with higher education opportunities, including leadership development and entrepreneurial skills building.
D.E.F.’s Diamonds Do Good Initiative was developed to inspire consumers with the great stories of and behind diamonds. The DDG Initiative highlights the good works and impacts of the diamond and jewelry industries in diamond communities and in other areas where the industry does business globally. The Empowerment Circle Seal—for D.E.F.’s highest level of membership—and the Diamonds Do Good Seal signify a company’s support of our mission.
The Diamond Empowerment Fund held it's second Annual GOOD Awards on January 10th 2013 at Lavo NYC, honoring two companies and one individual for their GOOD business practices and commitment to education efforts in Africa. Notable attendees included: Jeffrey Wright, Selita Ebanks, and Angela Simmons. For all of the highlights watch the video recap and read more.
We work with leaders from the diamond and jewelry industry who understand the importance of integrating responsible business practices throughout their supply chains. Supporting communities where they do business is part of how they do business.
