On Friday, January 11, 2008, Scott Rauch, President of Simmons Jewelry Co., presented on behalf of Simmons Jewelry Co. a donation in the sum $311,535.00 to the Diamond Empowerment Fund™ (D.E.F.). The Diamond Empowerment Fund, founded by Russell Simmons upon his return from Africa in 2007, is a non-profit, international organization dedicated to empowerment in Africa through funding education programs in African countries where diamonds are a natural resource. To-date, Simmons Jewelry Co. has donated close to $1,000,000 based on the sales of the green bracelet.
