Neal Goldberg

Governing Board Co-President

Neal Goldberg served as Chief Executive Officer of Zale Corporation from 2007 to 2010. Additionally, he served a member of the Board of Directors. He was responsible for the day-to-day operations of Zales Jewelers, Gordons Jewelers, Zales Outlet, Piercing Pagoda, and Peoples and Mappins Jewellers in Canada.

Prior to joining  Zale, Mr. Goldberg was President of The Childrens Place Retail Stores,  Inc., a leading specialty retailer of childrens merchandise with  sales of more than $2 billion, and also previously served as President of Gap, Inc.’s Outlet Division, overseeing 220 stores across Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic brands, with combined sales of more than  $1 billion.
Earlier in his career, he spent two years at the Victoria’s Secret Beauty/Intimate Beauty Corp. division of Limited Brands, as Senior Vice President/Chief Stores Officer. In this capacity, Mr. Goldberg played  an integral role in the repositioning and growth of the business.

Before moving  to specialty retail, Mr. Goldberg spent 16 years with Macy’s as Buyer,  Store Manager and ultimately, Senior Vice President/General Manager  for the chain’s flagship Herald Square location, the world’s largest  store. As General Manager, he led Herald Square through one of its most  successful and profitable growth periods, as sales grew to more than $500 million and its operating margin grew considerably. Mr. Goldberg  began his retailing career in the Executive Training Program at Bloomingdales.

Mr. Goldberg has more than 30 years of retail experience and holds a Bachelor of  Science degree from the University of Maryland.
