Hollywood Life magazine celebrated the hottest fashion icons, tastemakers and trendsetters at the 2007 Hollywood Style Awards held Sunday, October 7th at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood and the Green Bracelet figured prominently in the event as the favored celeb accessory and symbol for the Diamond Empowerment Fund’s mission to support education initiatives in Africa.
The star-studded evening, which recognized the invaluable behind-the-scenes work of the beauty, fashion, décor, and lifestyle creators of the inimitable “Hollywood look”, was hosted by eXtra’s Dayna Devon and Tanika Ray. Russell Simmons was honored with the Hollywood Soul award in recognition of his founding of D.E.F., and the Green Bracelet was proudly worn by the event’s hosts, presenters and honorees, including Cindy Crawford, Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, Ashley Simpson, Kim Kardashian, David Duchovny, Jamie Presley, Maria Menounos, Holly Robinson Peete, Teri Hatcher, Vanessa Hudgen, Emmy Rossum, Brett Ratner, and Vanessa Minillo, among others. The Green Bracelets were also displayed dramatically in a “giving tree” in the pre-awards cocktail party, and Simmons Jewelry Co.’s entire Green Initiative Collection of jewelry to benefit D.E.F. was featured in the “ Young Hollywood Dream Closet” of the Young Hollywood Home. Approximately 600 guests were in attendance. In addition, Hollywood Style Awards sponsor and D.E.F. patron, A Diamond Is Forever, donated a five-page advertising spread in Hollywood Life Magazine’s October issue to raise further awareness for the cause with the larger Hollywood community. The event garnered wonderful media attention both in print and on-line media outlets.
