Elliot Tannenbaum

Senior Principal, Leo Schachter Diamond Group

Elliot Tannenbaum was born in New York in 1952, and was raised and educated there.  He is now the Senior Principal of the Leo Schachter Diamond Group, headquartered in Ramat Gan, Israel. He joined the company in 1974, immediately after graduating from New York’s Yeshiva University with a degree in Economics continuing his education at The NYU School of Business for an MBA.  In 1983 he emigrated to Israel.

During his 36 years with the company, Elliot has directed and managed every aspect of its integrated businesses, from the relocation of a “family business” in New York’s diamond district to Israel’s bourse, through its three decade journey to becoming a global enterprise.

Operating on five continents with manufacturing and sales facilities in the world’s major diamond centers, The Leo Schachter Diamond Group is now one of the largest manufacturers of fine diamonds in the world serving the needs of its diverse multinational customer base. The LS Group also includes partnerships and alliances with Kama-Schachter (jewelry design and manufacturing – Mumbai), William Goldberg Diamonds (super-affluent private diamond jewelry – NYC), and the Lee Heng Diamond Company (branded diamond jewelry design & distribution in Hong Kong and Mainland China). Leo Schachter is also a leading sightholder of De Beers’ Diamond Trading Company in London and in Botswana.

The group’s success over the past decade has been driven above all by the power of marketing, consumer-relevant new product development, and branding, all aspects of the business which Elliot was one of the first diamantaires to understand and develop.  LS Group brands that have achieved multinational distribution include The Leo Diamond by Leo Schachter®, Ashoka Diamonds by William Goldberg®, and the Love’s Embrace Diamond Jewelry Collection™.

Most of all, Elliot is a devoted family man. He lives in Israel with his wife, Debbie, and is the proud father of eight children and grandfather of eleven.  He is active in both community and charitable organizations, and currently serves on the board of the Jewelers Charity Fund for Children, the Israel Diamond Manufacturers Association and the Board of Governors of Bar Illan University in Israel.
