Balebedi plans to study medicine with an ulitimate vision of tranforming public health in his home coutry of Botswana.
Balebedi’s Dream:
A leader is a complex creature to define. There isn’t a straightforward definition for one and neither can you pin point one just by looking at them. It’s not in the smile, the look or the firm character. It’s much deeper that. Where is it? It’s in the beheld. Anyone who believes they are a leader is indeed a leader. For that reason, I am one. It’s the unfaltering faith that lifts me beyond greatest heights that makes me a leader. The faith that tells me I am 100 times bigger, stronger and more powerful than what mere human eyes perceive me to be. No ocean waters with their fierce speed and mass can wash me away, for they are nothing compared to the strength within me. When I set my mind and soul to something, and believe that I can conquer it, nothing in this world eludes my grasp. All I seek falls into my hands.
I have the broad ambition of reshaping and restructuring health systems in Botswana. It is highly ambitions and to the faithless, would seem almost near impossible. But I don’t fall within that category. I believe one day I will develop multiple hospitals across the country that will provide access and a high standard of healthcare for all. I believe all people – from newborns to grandparents, peasants to kings – are equally entitled to and deserve access to the same level of health care. This is my dream and one day I will realize it.
