Their projects encompass directing, illustration, 2D and 3D animation, visual effects, and editing. The majority of their work is oriented towards music videos and commercial production.

Waytion’s approach to creating a message to raise awareness for DEF’s mission:

Our main goal was to create a spot that feels as simply produced as possible. After much debate on methodology, we decided to make the whole piece in stop motion. We shot live action with a still camera to create our initial body of elements, then began animating frame by frame. The biggest challenge was to make the animation timing work with the irregular stop motion rhythm. This was a challenging process requiring a lot of trial and error, but we are thrilled with the end result.

Martin Burström of Waytion was the creative director on the project, as well as the illustrator and primary animator. He is also a co-owner of Waytion and has been with the company since it started in January 2003. He is well-regarded music video director and creator of broadcast graphics in Sweden.
